Associate Movement Teacher
Generally a thing cannot freeze if it’s moving. So move. Keep moving. Thaw away tension and habits and create a release and receptive actor’s body – always able to take in and respond.
Natalie Shinnick is an actor, physical performer, director, and writer. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and holds a BFA in Acting and a minor in Dance from New York University.
After studying the exciting and transformative Meisner and Williamson Techniques with Nathan Flower and Julia Crockett, she continued to explore her passion for physical performance by choreographing movement, intimacy, and fight sequences for stage and film. She has also performed with the Hudson Valley Movement Company and in the TKS Summer Movement Installations. She is extremely grateful to have been mentored by Nathan Flower, Kana Sato, Julia Crockett, Mackian Bauman and the rest of the movement community here at TKS and NYU.
Some of her notable theatre credits include Carol in Anatomy of a Suicide (Playwrights Horizons Downtown), Henry V in Henry IV & Henry V (Tisch), Natalya in Pushkin (Manhattan Theatre Club Studios), and Elizabeth in The Cruicible (NYU). Some notable film credits include FBI: Most Wanted (CBS), The Rise of Hollywood (Discovery+), and Vote for Santa (Amazon Prime).
