“….what was so valuable about working with him was being able to witness a leader and an artist at work….”
I undoubtedly learned how to be a better mover with Nate, but what was so valuable about working with him was being able to witness a leader and an artist at work. Nate is a master of his craft, yet humble and willing to admit when something is not working. He knows how to push his students to help them reach new boundaries, but can also see when they need more guidance. He can direct artistic conversations where they need to go, while also hearing everyone’s voice and offering useful feedback.
On top of it all, he can laugh at himself (and his students) with a sense of play that makes you want to experiment, take risks, and enjoy the process. Working with Nate helped me find a deeper sense of my body’s potential, but I also feel like I gained an equally, if not more valuable, look at how to be a bolder, more open, and more generous collaborator and artist.
