Jonathan González is a Dominican-American artist, scholar, and cultural organizer practicing at the intersections of performance. Their work examines Black citational practices, as well as political economies of embodiment, migration and dance. González’s works include ZERO – nominated for a New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Award for Outstanding Production – Lucifer Landing I & II, (r-black)2 + z2-LIFE = 1STILL, The Smallest Unit is Eachother and New Natives. Their work has been presented by Danspace Project, The Studio Museum in Harlem, Park Avenue Armory, MoMA, MoMA PS1, Center for Afrofuturist Studies, homeschool:PDX, Academy of Arts Berlin, Little Island, BRIC, among others. Their writings have been published by Contact Quarterly, Cultured Magazine, deem journal, region(es), Angela’S Pule, Movement Research.
