“I would take the Two-Year Program all over again if I could. I really found myself here and my artistic home and friends that I know will last a life time and training that will better my work as an actor.”
What do people have to say about the Terry Knickerbocker Studio?
The Terry Knickerbocker studio is honored to receive feedback from students and alumni.
“I would take the Two-Year Program all over again if I could. I really found myself here and my artistic home and friends that I know will last a life time and training that will better my work as an actor.”
“We have the most amazing staff and faculty [and] we had an amazing group of people, everyone worked well with everyone else.”
“[I learned to] not be embarrassed of what I do and ignore that inner critic”
“Through my experience throughout two weeks, I feel like I’m a little more comfortable with my body and I can express myself a little bit better. The program has helped me to leave my comfort zone on many occasions.”
“I came into the program not knowing what to expect…it made me feel more confident in acting and be more comfortable being out of my comfort zone.”
I met Terry through a friend of mine and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made to attend his Two-Year Conservatory. Not only is this class opening up doors for me that I didn’t know were closed, but I’ve never experienced an acting class that provides the building blocks necessary to begin an extraordinary acting career.
Upon walking in and seeing TK Studio for the first time, I realized how serious Terry Knickerbocker is about building an environment conducive to learning. Every inch of the space leads one closer to the reason we are all there; the work.
TK Studios is a bit off the grid in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, which for me allows more focus on the work and the craft than being in a studio in the busy city full of other acting studios that feel like desperation and competition.
Kana is a great teacher because she really challenges us to move outside of our comfort zones. She also takes the time to really listen to each individual and always has feedback tailored to each person.
Matthew is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life – in any curriculum. He’s just a wonderful guy. He’s a walking, living genius.
Nate demands excellence, which is a very good thing, but it can be very scary because we are being asked to step out of our comfort zones and explore that discomfort within the context of movement.
Julia is an incredible artist and teacher. Her depth of knowledge is inspiring. Her openness and generosity with this knowledge is profound — She cultivates a safe, judgment-free space where students are able to learn and fail and grow through experience and with total support.
