In this Introduction to Meisner Technique class, students will learn the foundational aspects of the Meisner training– living truthfully under imaginary circumstances, listening and responding honestly and in the moment, repetition, the independent activity, the knock at the door, objectives, relationships, and shared circumstances. Through Meisner training, students will develop a deeper connection to their personal truths and individuality through improvisational exercises and partner work. And, by the end of class, using Meisner’s emphasis on imaginative crafting and specificity, students will develop original work that centers their voices and focuses on their individual points of view.
