Actors Creating Work

This series offers students the opportunity to tell stories and create characters in a safe and brave space

This workshop offers an opportunity for actors to explore wearing many hats—that of writer/deviser, director, producer and creator of work. Participants will form an ensemble, building trust so they feel comfortable to take risks— mirroring the work done in the early days of LAByrinth Theater Company, of which Deblinger is a founding member. This work is based on three tenets: ensemble, multi-disciplinary, and self-generating. Music, movement and comedy will be injected into this process in a manner that reflects the inclinations of those in the room. The program will culminate with a performance event and celebration for the ensemble and invited guests.

Graduate, or currently enrolled student in any foundational acting program. An interview with David is required, during which prospective participants can ask questions and, if they wish, share original work.
